Question about choice of GUI in earlier days

Hey developers

I just stumbled on this page about SPHysics, and as far as I remember DualSPHysics started out from the earlier work by SPHysics, so I wondered:

Why was FreeCad chosen as a GUI when the initial GUI was made in Blender for SPHysics?

I was just curious to why since I personally find Blender a bit easier to manage than FreeCad, but would really like to hear why FreeCad was chosen in the end.
